Why use a vehicle that can scale the side of a mountain just to go to the store because you forgot something? It doesn’t make any sense. It is like using a chainsaw to cut a loaf of bread. A car is extremely expensive to purchase, maintain and insure, in addition to being a real source of stress. A household needs a car(s) for long distance trips, transporting kids, and for hauling stuff but how many people just get in the car and go regardless of destination? There is a better way to get around short distances.
My name is Matt Brueggeman, Co-Founder and CEO of Flux. We produce small electric vehicles for short distance transportation. Our flagship is the Flux EM1, an electric moped that tops out at 38mph and gets up to 50 miles per charge. The benefits of the Flux EM1 are numerous: it is quiet, easy to park, a blast to ride, extremely low maintenance and all while being a fraction of the total cost to purchase and operate a car. The Flux EM1 is Your Local Ride because it is the perfect level of performance for local commutes and getting around town.
That may sound good but what does it mean to you? Our clients have told us that local errands in a car are a chore, but riding the Flux EM1 turns the hassle of an errand into a fun little adventure. On the Flux EM1 every ride is a little different because now you can enjoy the scenery instead of just driving by it. Going to the grocery store can be fun!
I have dedicated my professional life to this concept because I believe that the transition from gas vehicles to electric offers the opportunity to reassess the status quo, not just repackage the old way. The concept of Your Local Ride will make life easier, less stressful and stretch a dollar further for everyone. Additionally, we have observed that our clients naturally tend to frequent local businesses more often than they did when driving a car short distances. By spending money at local businesses, the local economy will grow, making towns more interesting because small business is one of the major components that makes each community unique. Traffic will go down, noise pollution will go down, the burden to local infrastructure will be less, parking will be easier, and community areas will increasingly become more vibrant and pedestrian friendly as there are fewer cars to contend with. Doesn’t that sound nice? If you think it does, please check out our Your Local Ride Landing page to read more:
